One of the best features for the traveler is the fabolous Puerto Vallarta weather. From mid October to mid June the temperatures are allways between 20 and 30 degrees celsius without rain fall. During the summer the temperatures go up to 38 or 40 degrees, with one or two hours of summer rain mostly in the afternoon.

The travelers prefer the time between November and May, because they can be sure to have sun more or less all days.

Traditionally november, december and january is the time with the most visits. I prefer the time between march and may, because there are less tourists and the oceans water is well temperatured. Also the hotels prices are lower during this time.

Puerto Vallarta (as is Nuevo Vallarta) is surrounded by jungle, and receives considerable rain. The rainy season is June to September, rainiest in September. December and January, the peak tourist season, are hot and sunny. Weather in Spring and Autumn includes moderate temperatures. While the rain can spoil a day at the beach, the storms can be quite beautiful, with rain seeming to march across the hills and lightning illuminating the sky. Runoff from the rains can turn the seawater brown in some areas, detracting somewhat from the beauty of the beaches and sea. Temperatures reach 90 degrees F (32 C) during the summer, and the humidity can add to the perception of heat. During the winter, weather changes significantly and temperatures are in the low to mid 80’s F (28-30 C), quite comfortable for a stroll on the beach. Nighttime temperatures in Puerto and Nuevo Vallarta range from the 60’s to the mid 70’s (19-24 C).
Puerto Vallarta is virtually immune from hurricanes. The Bay of Banderas acts as a natural barrier, dragging the storms out to sea, or further up the coast. Only once in the past 35 years has Puerto Vallarta experienced damage from a hurricane.
